A woman shall not wear man's clothing...

Yeap! That's what Deuteronomy 22:5 says. Here's the rest:

"A woman shall not wear man's clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.

Ouch!! So, since we are trying to teach our children to take God's Word literally, we are trying to teach them how to dress in the process. C.12.B. doesn't wear skirts and dresses and P.8.G. doesn't wear pants (at least VERY RARELY). This has been a gradual process over the past 4 years. It didn't happen overnight, and we still waver on it sometimes - much to our chagrin. But, Big P likes to see his daughter in dresses and his wife! Makes us feel like ladies that way, anyhoo.

The best solution we have come up with for her is culottes. Since I didn't do much sewing last year, we settled on some gauchos, but weren't really pleased with those. I've searched high and low for culottes and it seems that in the last couple of years, some great patterns have come out. This year I decided that I really must do some sewing as finding appropriate things for a little girl is hard these days.

These are made from a box pleat split skirt pattern from Modest Handmaidens. We purchased it at Butter and Honey General Store.

I believe we will do culottes in the winter as well, but with leggings and tights underneath. This year we did some knit dresses with knit leggings. That worked well also. This solution will probably be warmer.

Here are the pics:

This is an adorable pink gingham type print with little white daisies.

See how there is lots of freedom for movement. yet, they don't balloon out, either. Perfect for jumping on the trampoline and climbing trees.

This is a beautiful teal background with small floral print.

These are probably both our favorites. They are lavender with butterflies and flowers. Very pretty.

We'll get solid color tshirts to match - probably 2 of each color since she tends to be, well, a bit messy! LOL

And then I just finished up an apron for me. I've needed a nice apron for quite some time. I made the Amish Apron from Amelia's Aprons, which we also purchased from Butter and Honey.

Truthfully, I look a bit like a cow in it right now, being that I'm 31 weeks pregnant, carrying VERY high, and this little boys hiney is sticking straight out! Just like I carried P.8.G. Nope, there is NO chance that it is a girl. I've already seen one of those 3 other times in a sonogram and have come to figure out EXACTLY what they look like!

Dressing to please the Lord,
